Data storytelling about the culture and heritage of Addington
St Mary’s Church, 21 Church Square, Addington
Saturday 30 June, 10am–2pm
If you’re interested in Addington’s unique culture and heritage, and in participating in a new way of celebrating it digitally, then come along to this free workshop.
You don’t need to be an expert in digital technology or computer software. The workshop is being held by the University of Waikato’s Urban Narrative Group, and there’ll be plenty of experts in the room. They’ll show you ways of thinking creatively about digital tools that can tell the story of the culture and heritage of your community.
This is your chance to help design Addington’s own tailor-made digital tools, including a mobile app for the Addington community, and test them around the neighbourhood. This project is part of Christchurch City Council’s new direction for heritage. The Council is working in partnership with the Addington community and Urban Narrative Group to celebrate the heritage of the city.
This is an open session so do not hesitate to drop in throughout the course of the workshop. Coffee, tea, cake, biscuits and sandwiches will be available!
If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Updates on workshop results and insights will be posted here as they become available.
